studies (international experience preferred)
Position Description =
Our client seeking an experienced Air Quality Engineer in Buffalo, NY or other nationwide locations. This position will be
responsible for providing leadership and engineering support on air quality projects and ensuring compliance with regulatory
policies and professional standards. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and elicit cooperation
from a team of expert consultants in a variety of disciplines on challenging environmental / air quality projects for clients
domestically and globally.
Responsibilities:
- Project management and engineering support for air quality studies and impact assessments
- Emission control engineering studies for existing and newly constructed commercial and industrial combustion
processes and thermal treatment of waste (hazardous and non-hazardous) technologies
- Engineering support for emission inventories, air permit application projects, air dispersion modeling programs and air
quality monitoring design and implementation
- Utilize mass and energy balances to estimate gas flows and pollutant emissions from combustion and chemical
processes
- Conduct preliminary design of air pollution control systems for cost analysis
- Regulatory compliance studies
Requirements:
- Proven experience developing and implementing project plans and work assignments, preparing proposals, managing
project teams, budgets, schedules and subcontracts and developing client relationships
- Experience permitting under Best Available Control Technology (BACT), Lowest Achievable Emission Rate (LAER) and
Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) requirements under the Clean Air Act (CAA)
- Experience leading tasks for preparation of EIS/EARs and FERC applications
- Knowledge of air emission and air quality regulations of USEPA including permitting requirements
- Knowledge of chemical and thermal processes such as chemical fertilizer production, refineries, and soil remediation
- Knowledge of energy processes and cycles such as oil, coal, natural gas, and wood waste combustion, incineration,
and gasification
- Strong organizational, analytical, project management, data interpretation, and strategic planning skills with attention
to detail and a high quality of work in a pressure environment
- Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to quickly adapt to change
- Excellent communication, technical and report and proposal writing skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to travel extensively both domestically and internationally for extended periods of time to support business
