Position Title = Geotechnical Engineer

Status = Permanent Full Time with Benefits

Education Required = Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with course work in Soil Mechanics and
Foundation Engineering.

Experience Required = 5+ years of Geotechnical Engineering experience.

License = Professional registration (E.I.T. or P.E.).

Position Description = The Geotechnical Engineer position requires a minimum of a Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in
Civil Engineering with course work in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering.  Experience levels require a minimum of 5
years Geotechnical experience.  Professional registration (E.I.T. or P.E.).  Must have excellent verbal, written and
communication skills including familiarity with various commercial geotechnical engineering software and laboratory testing.

GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING SERVICES:

Subsurface Soil Investigation, Geologic Investigations, Foundation Investigations, Slope Stability Analysis, Pile static and
dynamic analysis, Pile/Caisson/Foundation Load Tests, Rock Stability Analysis, Rock Anchor Design,  Soil Nailing Design,
Pavement Field Evaluation and Design, Value Engineering and Failure Investigations and Hydrogeologic Assessments,.

DUTIES:

Duties include periodic site visits and reconnaissance, plan, co-ordinate fieldwork,  guide other field engineering staff to
execute the fieldwork, review field data and samples, assign and review laboratory tests, perform analyses, prepare
geotechnical report,  coordination with engineering technicians, staff engineers, clients, government agencies, and
subcontractors, occasional construction monitoring.  Minor administration duties, e.g., writing purchase orders, reviewing
subcontractors' invoices, quality control check of final reports, etc., are required, including any other duties as required.

Continuing education in the form of seminars; in-house or out of the office training, and self-study for long-term career
commitment are required.

CAREER ADVANCEMENT:

Project Engineer position leads to Senior Engineer position upon professional registration and demonstration of capability to
handle senior level responsibilities and technical expertise.

Bottom line requirements

1.  Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with course work in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering.
2.  5+ years of Geotechnical Engineering experience.
3.  Professional registration (E.I.T. or P.E.).
