Position Title = Senior Vessel Designer
Years Experience Required = 10
Position Description = Make vessel drawings and sketches. Ten years experience required in vessel design. Fabrication
background helpful. Supervises designers producing systems sketches, 2D or 3D systems drawings, documenting
specifications, estimating staffing requirements and work-hours estimates. Responsibilities: Supervises and coaches
designers preparing systems sketches and drawings; collects document specifications based on appropriate engineering
criteria and technical manuals. Work conforms to applicable codes and standards as well as company policies and
procedures. Ensures work fulfills client's needs for staffing requirements, work-hours estimates and 2D or 3D systems
drawings. Completes work assignments independently or with minimal supervision/guidance. Acts as a resource for
colleagues with less experience. May coordinate activities of others. Has developed specialized knowledge/skills in own area.
Applies knowledge/skills to a range of activities; acts as a technical resource to others in own area. Understands customer
needs and identifies solutions to nonstandard requests. Solves moderately complex problems. Manages own time to meet
objectives. Contributes to achievement of team goals; promotes teamwork.
