Job Title = Operator
Status = Full time salaried with benefits.
Position Description = An Operator is responsible for opening and maintaining industrial waste treatment equipment at the
job site. An Operator also drives company vehicles, supervises and trains Technicians. In addition, an Operator promotes the
company's business by conducting work assignments in a professional and safe manner.
  • Must have two years of verifiable experience as an Technician or equivalent.
  • Is physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities ofhis/her position.
  • Must meet all minimum requirements of the Technician classification.
  • Must be capable of supervising the operations of equipment utilized by the company.
  • Must meet substance abuse screening requirements.
  • Reports for work at scheduled times.
  • Supervises, directs and assist Technician in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Reads work orders for assigned job and designates proper hoses, chemicals and other equipment required for
    assigned job.
  • Operates vehicles, industrial waste treatment equipment, and power tools when authorized and qualified to do so and
    in accordance with company rules, facility rules, and work. orders.
  • Obeys all prevailing local. state, and federal traffic laws and regulations while operating any vehicle on company
    property, in client's facility. and on public streets and highways.
  • Hooks up and breaks down equipment using proper tools and procedures.
  • Inspects equipment, hoses, connections. PWlpS, and general work area prior to starting any job. Corrects deficiencies
    which may cause accidents, injuries, lost productivity, or which are inconsistent with the work order or client's
  • Performs field maintenance on Company vehicles. equipment, and tools.
  • Develops and maintains a working knowledge of all services provided by the company.
  • Cleans up work area and equipment after work. is complete. Assists in maintaining a safe and clean work place in
    client's facility.
  • Wears the personnel protective equipment prescribed by posts signs, established operating procedures, written
    instructions, and work permits.
  • Participates in company safety meetings and training programs. Conducts on-the-job training for Technicians.
  • Responsible for safety under his/her authority. Reports all accidents, near misses, and/or injuries involving self,
    company vehicles, or persons under supervision.
  • Promotes safety through pro-active actions and work activities.
  • Complete Job Safety Analysis (JSA) at the beginning of each shift as well as when a new hazard is encountered.
  • Complies with and enforces all applicable rules, regulations. policies and procedures of the company and client.
    Conforms to Federal, State and Local Regulatory Requirements.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management personnel.

Location = Home-based, extensive travel required, majority of the projects are in LA, TX, & CA
Position Title = Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor
Status = Full-time, salaried with benefits.
Education Required = Minimum high school or GED equivalent, Bachelors degree in engineering field highly desirable.
Experience Required = Minimum of 8 years mechanical experience in maintenance/engineering in the pulp and paper
Position Description = Manage the coordination of maintenance needs for the Operating Departments to achieve short and
long term goals and objectives of the Department and company.  Coordinate purchasing, scheduling, and documenting of
work tasks for assigned areas.  Support services include maintenance, contractors, and equipment vendors.
  • Creates and supports a culture of safe and environmentally responsible work practices.
  • Responsible for day to day organization/scheduling and supervision of mechanical crews.
  • Serve as operating department maintenance contact during duty and when scheduled on-call.
  • Troubleshoots equipment performance problems in the department.  
  • Coordinates and performs the preventative maintenance responsibility in the department; coordinates the follow-up
    investigation into the cause of lost time, the immediate measures to be taken to get the equipment back on line, and
    the long term measures to be taken to prevent the recurrence of lost time.
  • Establishment of parts and inventory requirements for all area equipment.  Provide liaison with Stores to maintain and
    secure parts needed for daily work.
  • Establish and maintain repair history (computer database) for all area equipment.
  • Tracks equipment and system performance, identifies problems, coordinates decision-making and corrective actions.
  • Procure, track, receive, inventory, secure, and stage parts for all mechanical maintenance projects.
  • Develop contingency plans for unplanned outages and communicates operating options.
  • Coordinates the implementation of the outage work schedule within the operations department.
  • Schedule and conduct planning meetings
  • Manages interface with equipment vendors and non-operation contractors.
  • Identifies training needs related to equipment and systems.
  • Interface with Engineering to provide project scope development and control; establishes project priorities and
    scheduling; coordinates project with Operations.
  • Manages expenditures within the confines of the budget as set by the Maintenance Mechanical Superintendent.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Understanding basic mechanical problems or understanding basic operating processes.

Location = Portland, OR area
Position Title = Electrical/Instrumentation Maintenance Manager
Status = Full-time, salaried with benefits.
Education Required = Minimum high school or GED equivalent Bachelors degree in Engineering field highly desirable.
Experience Required = Minimum of 5 years electrical experience in maintenance/engineering in the pulp and paper
environment. Supervisory experience preferred.
Position Description = Manage the overall activities of the Electrical and Instrumentation functions that support the  Mill
Operations. Provide services to assigned departments to achieve short- and long-term objectives of the departments and
company. Services to include Electrical, Instrumentation, Predictive Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance.
  • Manage safety for the department.
  • Manage budget and control costs for E/I functions.
  • Determine and identify electrical liability for the millwide operations and then develop plans and projects to correct
    those deficiencies.
  • Review and guide overall planning and scheduling of E/I functions.
  • Manage all inside and outside contractors including “contractor notifications” to the union per the labor agreement.
    Approvals of time for contractors.
  • Identify and manage ongoing upgrades to the process control systems.
  • Chair of apprenticeship committee. Interface with State of Oregon re apprentices as needed.
  • Identify and develop the training program for all hourly and salaried E/I staff.
  • Back-up radiation safety officer for the mill.
  • Track equipment and system performance, identify problems, coordinate decision making and corrective actions.
  • Supervise E/I intern.
  • Support Engineering on capital projects, as required.
  • Responsible for knowledge and understanding of ISO standards, Quality Manual, Quality Policy, Quality Procedures
    and Departmental Procedures, and Work Instructions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
